Adjunct Vocational Nursing Clinical Instructor

American Career College is recruiting a faculty member to teach nursing students and supervise clinical instruction. Responsibilities Deliver class and/or clinical instruction according to an approved curriculum using accepted and effective teaching methods. Supervise students while they work with patients or in the clinical setting, assessing their ability to effectively apply classroom knowledge, master necessary skills, communicate effectively, and plan patient care. Develop daily lesson plans; advise, remediate, and tutor students; maintain accurate attendance and grade records; remain current in the applicable teaching field. Participate in faculty meetings, professional growth activities, and in-service training sessions. Attend college activities such as student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings. Strive for student success by providing quality instruction that results in achievement of academic goals, retention of students, and preparation for entry-level positions in healthcare. Experience OPTION 1: 2 years nursing experience as an RN or LVN within the last 5 years. OPTION 2: 6 years nursing experience as an LVN and RN combined, or 6 years of either. Education OPTION 1: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school recognized by the DOE; completion of a course or courses in teaching. OPTION 1 alternative: CA teaching certification and completion of a course or courses in teaching. OPTION 1 alternative: Minimum of 1 year full-time teaching experience in a state-accredited registered nursing or vocational/practical nursing school within the last 5 years. OPTION 2: Meet community college or state university educational minimums (ADN) teaching requirements in CA. Licenses & Certifications Current active California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN). Current CPR Card. American Career College is an equal‑opportunity employer.
