Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit with a night shift ratio of 1:5–6
• Manage common diagnoses including COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID, Pneumonia, and post-surgical patients (hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel resections)
• Monitor and respond to telemetry events as communicated by central monitor technicians; manage patients on Lasix and Heparin drips
• Care for BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow patients; no ventilator patients on this unit
• Collaborate with APN in-house coverage and eHospitalist support available during night shift
• May float to other floors when competency requirements are met, taking a full patient assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Willingness to comply with a drug-free campus policy; negative drug screen required for all panels
• Must have a permanent address more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with EPIC EMR
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and common Med-Surg drips (Lasix, Heparin)
• Familiarity with post-surgical patient care and management of respiratory conditions
