Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a respiratory therapist providing compassionate, patient-centered care on a prn day shift basis. This role involves delivering a full range of respiratory services under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients.

Job Summary

Plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy treatments, collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Maintain efficient operations and a positive work environment while supporting the organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely and compassionate respiratory care, assessing patient needs and interpreting test results to develop treatment plans.
• Administer medically prescribed therapies such as inhalants, mechanical ventilation, and bronchopulmonary drainage.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gas analysis, adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Supervise respiratory therapy aides and technicians, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment.
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients and caregivers on home respiratory care and equipment.
• Contribute to policy development, protocol implementation, and staff training initiatives.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree from a Coarc-accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license in Washington state.
• NBRC certified respiratory therapist (CRT) upon hire; registered respiratory therapist (RRT) within one year.
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical skills.
• Ability to assess and tailor treatments across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Proficient in operating respiratory therapy equipment and electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
• Capable of independent judgment, problem-solving, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent lifting and carrying of equipment up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.

Work Environment

This position offers 12-hour shifts on a prn basis within a supportive healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest. The region offers a blend of small-town charm and access to outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, and nature viewing.
