Material Handler Team Lead - 2nd Shift

Job Hours 2:30pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday. Overtime: Extended hours until 11:30 PM or 12:30 AM + Saturdays. Material Handler I Responsibilities Follow established procedures, processes, or policies. Operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility. Develop a good knowledge of the company and may be assigned to projects for career development. Learn the principles, practices, and processes in the function or discipline. Develop the business knowledge required for the full job. May resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level and complexity. Follow defined procedures and practices. Contact is typically with immediate supervisor and other members of the team in the immediate organization. Flex across different products and areas to support business needs. Perform forklift daily inspections. Accept responsibility for own actions and follow through on commitments. Participate in team meetings and exchange job related information. Demonstrate attention to detail, attendance, and quality. Perform safe and effective operation of all equipment needed to perform job function. Practice safe working habits, following safety guidelines to operation and support of company initiatives. Know the basic functions of the ERP system. May assist in training new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work. Actively understand and participate with the Drive to Zero program. Other duties as assigned. Material Handler II Responsibilities Material Handler I responsibilities. Use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions. May participate in project teams or lead portions of projects. Has a thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices and processes in the applicable discipline and has a working knowledge of related fields. Provides resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions. Contact is typically with the supervisor and other members of the team or immediate organization but may be outside of this to complete the assignment. May represent the team on projects and interface with business partners. Impacts of errors normally have implications requiring additional resources. Contribute to improving processes, lead times, throughput, and cost. Material Handler III Responsibilities Material Handler I & II responsibilities. Ability to cross-train in different areas of need. Flex across different products and areas to support business needs. Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work. Proficiently access information and perform transactions as needed within ERP system. Use initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures. Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Material Handler I Qualifications Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment. Ability to identify and resolve basic problems. Ability to effectively work in a team environment. Model positive and professional work ethics. Effective communication skills. Material Handler II Qualifications Material Handler I requirements. Effectively cross train in multiple operations. Use advanced troubleshooting within the materials environment. Train other employees in established processes. Problem solving skills and interfacing with other departments. Strong communication skills. Material Handler III Qualifications Material Handler I & II requirements. 2 years of material handling/forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and forklift certified. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; use hands to manipulate objects or controls; stand and walk regularly; stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders on occasion; occasionally lift up to 25-50 pounds; perform frequent continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus; occasional travel.
