This role bridges engineering and production, ensuring parts are designed for manufacturability, efficiency, and quality.Duties include but are not limited to:Design sheet metal components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor)Create 3D sheet metal models, bend deductions, and detailed fabrication drawingsPrepare CNC laser cutting layouts, nesting, tool paths, and material utilization plansSupport press brake setup activities, including bend sequences and tooling selectionInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specificationsOptimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and cost efficiencySelect appropriate materials, thicknesses, and tolerancesCollaborate with production teams to resolve fabrication issuesPerform quality checks and ensure parts meet specificationsMaintain documentation, revision control, and job recordsRequirements:3–5 years of experience in mechanical design preferably in sheet metal design.Proficiency in 3D CAD softwareExperience with laser cutting systems such as Bystronic, Trumpf, or Amada; preferred but not required.Knowledge of press brake setup and operationStrong understanding of bend allowances, K-factor, and GD&TAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsStrong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processesExperience with CNC laser and press brake operationsCAD modeling and drafting experienceDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesExcellent customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitudeTechnically proficient and comfortable using Microsoft Office applications #J-18808-Ljbffr Priority Dispatch Corp.
