Be involved in projects with our Small Utility Services team and be part of a growing organization that helps clients achieve their objectives and solve complex challenges.As a Transmission Line Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing team members, leading projects, advocating for clients, and strengthening existing relationships. This role focuses on leading transmission line design projects for electric cooperative, municipal, and public utility district clients while supporting WSP’s commitment to serving local public power utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing projects while helping team members enhance their transmission design capabilities.Your ImpactTake the helm on transmission projects while providing guidance and support to junior engineers and designersFormulate project scope documents, establish budgets, and create and maintain schedulesChair client project meetings and facilitate effective communication between clients, managers, and internal teams to ensure project alignment with requirements, scope and scheduleAddress client inquiries spanning various technical areas and appropriately manage client expectationsExhibit eagerness to expand expertise beyond transmission into other design disciplinesExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of relevant post education experience as an engineer providing design deliverables in the power industryEngineer in Training CertificationExperience managing small to mid-size projectsExperience performing substation, transmission and/or distribution design for electric cooperativesDemonstrate proficiency in PLS-CADD design softwareDemonstrate proficiency in the NESCAbility to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweekA valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirementsPreferred QualificationsEssential Professional Licensure/CertificationExperience with the RUS Transmission Design GuideMaster’s degree in engineeringWSP BenefitsWSP offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' health, well-being, and financial security throughout their careers.
