Jack Morton is looking for a Design Director to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a history of developing award-winning Environmental Designs and has experience leading a team of designers. We are looking for someone with the ability to generate thoughtful design concepts that translate into compelling branded live experiences. Stage and event experience are a plus for this role.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. The duties and responsibilities as outlined in this Job Description may be changed from time to time by the Corporation, as it deems necessary, without further notice to the Employee.

• Design immersive, compelling 3D environments to house branded experiences
• Present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
• Immerse yourself in the brand and audience to inspire your design
• Be responsible, organized and accountable the work of your team
• Understanding of materials, building techniques and construction drawings
• Create control packages for estimation
• Understand how to work within budgets and regulations
• Ability to lead and mentor a team
• Communicate feedback to team members in a constructive fashion
• Collaborate within the Creative department and across the organization
• Communicate with clarity, confidence, competence, professionalism and authenticity
• Stay current with design trends and apply them to your work where relevant

Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: BA or BFA in Industrial Design, Architecture, Scenic Design, or other relevant degree; or 10+ years relevant design and experiential marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other skills and abilities include experience with pharmaceutical clients/brands a plus, strong communicator and dynamic presenter, entrepreneurial and proactive, passionate, ambitious, risk taker.
