Lead Java Developer

Salary: $106,230 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and microservices architecture
• Extensive AWS cloud development and solution-design experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Kafka and distributed systems
• Expertise in CI/CD, DevOps, release automation, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, TDD, JUnit, BDD, Cucumber/Karate, and the Drools Rule Engine
• Advanced SQL database design and performance optimization skills
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams
• Knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience leading and mentoring teams
• Strategic thinking, business acumen, and the ability to influence architecture and technology decisions
• Strong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills
• Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification; React or Angular experience; exposure to large-scale distributed platforms and cloud modernization; hands-on OpenShift/Kubernetes administration; or experience in financial services, banking, or payments

• Lead application architecture design and technical decision-making
• Design and develop microservices and REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Batch, and Hibernate/JPA
• Build secure applications using OAuth2 and enterprise security frameworks
• Design, deploy, and support cloud-native solutions on AWS, including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch, EMR, Kinesis, and CDK
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
• Build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
• Lead containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, and Kinesis
• Design and optimize Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and other NoSQL databases
• Lead production support, incident management, performance tuning, and system monitoring using Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch

We are hiring a Java Lead for a full-time, hybrid role based in Riverwood, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; or Richmond, Virginia.
