Hinkle Contracting, LLC, a CRH company, is looking for a Paving Roller Operator in Owensboro, Kentucky. Hinkle operates one of Kentucky's most extensive networks of state-of-the-art asphalt paving and production supply facilities. This position operates various types of rolling equipment to achieve a quality finished product in the paving process with special attention to meeting compaction requirements and aesthetics of the job. This position will report directly to the Paving Foreman.

Primary Function: This position operates various types of rolling equipment to achieve a quality finished product in the paving process with special attention to meeting compaction requirements and aesthetics of the job.

Position Requirements: Operate equipment safely and efficiently by following patterns to smooth material from paver to proper depths; Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving; Familiarity with vibrating frequencies in comparison to maximum depth; Must be able to follow grades; The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor; Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site; Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task; Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment; Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently; Ability to follow verbal and written instruction. Ability to communicate effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills; and Perform any other general duties as specified.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and two years related asphalt and road construction experience; Prior experience with asphalt paving & rolling equipment; Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical; Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document; Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times; Report to work at the designated start time; Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. This job is for a portable paving crew requiring extensive travel; Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary; Be able to work overtime when required; Maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements; Have a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards; Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold; Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook; Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required; Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA; Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment; and Previous related experience in construction field is preferred.
