Traditional Labor Associate

Duties and Responsibilities Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Research and write on management labor relations issues Represent management in NLRB elections Provide legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check, and neutrality agreements Negotiate and/or advise on collective bargaining agreements Handle grievance and arbitration proceedings Obtain mass picketing injunctions Advise on protected concerted activity and other NLRA matters Conduct management training on labor relations Advise management in union work‑stoppage situations Deal with advice and counsel for clients regarding California workplace laws and other assignments as needed Skills and Educational Requirements JD from an ABA‑accredited law school Minimum of 2 years of traditional labor law experience involving labor relations MO bar admission Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and project‑management skills Excellent written and oral communication skills May include regular business travel Location Kansas City, MO. Other Information The position is primarily a traditional labor position but may include, from time to time, dealing with advice and counsel for clients regarding California workplace laws and other assignments as needed.
