Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) registered nurse (RN) will provide perioperative nursing care within a critical access hospital located in Polson, Montana. The position involves working across various surgical specialties including OB-GYN, orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, and pain management in a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) setting. Candidates will be required to bring their license on the first day and must be experienced in managing a broad scope of surgical procedures and patient care throughout the surgical continuum.

Job Details:

• Location: Polson, Montana
• Shift: Days, 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift; there is potential for 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Montana or Compact registered nursing (RN) license; at least 2 years of OR or perioperative nursing experience; current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); experience with Epic EMR system preferred; ability to handle a wide array of surgical procedures listed including hysterectomy, appendectomy, C-section, cardiac monitoring, and more.
• Special Requirements: Experience working in a critical access hospital; capable of circulating C-sections; flexible to work across different surgical units including preoperative, intraoperative, and PACU; ability to follow surgical safety protocols such as the Universal Protocol (Time out).
• On-Call: Yes, variable call including weekends and nights (approximately 8 shifts/month). Must be prepared to float within surgical services and assist other departments as needed within scope.
• Additional Information: Position includes all areas in the surgery department such as Pre-op, PACU, Endoscopy, and OR. Candidates should have surgical experience, be well-rounded in managing patients throughout the perioperative process, and be adaptable to different shifts and units within the facility.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must answer whether they have previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry. Two references covering the last one year (or six months for CNAs) are required prior to start. Candidates are not to contact the facility directly unless scheduled for an interview.
