We are expanding our hospital‐based pathology practice in Dothan, Alabama, and seeking a formally trained Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) to join our team. Position Summary The Pathologists’ Assistant will serve as the primary onsite PA within a single-hospital practice model, working directly with the onsite pathologist while receiving support from CorePath’s team. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, professionalism, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and patient safety. Key Responsibilities Perform gross examination of a wide range of surgical pathology specimens Manage specimen triage, dissection, and submission in accordance with best practices Assist with frozen sections in partnership with the attending pathologist Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with laboratory protocols Maintain consistent quality and efficiency in all grossing operations Collaborate with histology, laboratory personnel, and clinical teams Support laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance, including CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and HIPAA Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement Qualifications Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program ASCP-certified (PA ASCP) or certification-eligible Experience in a hospital-based anatomic pathology setting Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Effective verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills Eligible for or able to quickly obtain a Alabama medical license Commitment to ethical practice, compliance, and professional standards Why Join CorePath?
