Job Description

The successful Controller will:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee job cost accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Manage banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, and working capital initiatives.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with operations and project management teams to monitor project financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Controller will:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior experience in the construction, engineering, general contracting, or project-driven industry required.
• Strong understanding of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
• Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and manage accounting teams.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and business partnering capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growing organization.
