Supervisor - Pharmacy Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) - PIC

Job Overview This position is responsible for coordinating Clinical Pharmacy Services at a Long Term Care Facility. Key duties include developing, implementing, and maintaining systems that promote patient outcomes through safe and cost‑effective drug therapies. The Pharmacist in Charge provides clinical consultation, training, and competency assessment for pharmacists and students, and reviews the performance of clinical activities. Education Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) – required Post‑doctoral residency or fellowship – preferred Work Experience 3 to 5 years of clinical practice – required Supervisory experience – required Long‑Term Acute Care (LTAC) experience – preferred Certifications Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice – required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, administrators and support staff. Computer skills for data entry and patient information retrieval; proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication, and the ability to present information clearly to all members of the healthcare team. Strong leadership skills. Job Duties Coordinate Clinical Pharmacy Services. Educate staff on pharmaceutical issues. Supervise, train, and develop department staff. Provide patient assessment and care. Maintain professional certifications, licenses, and technical knowledge. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy, communication style, and tailored explanations of services or procedures. Physical and Environmental Demands Medium work involving occasional lifting of 20‑50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10‑25 pounds. The role requires prolonged standing and may involve work in isolation rooms. Exposure to hazardous medications, waste, and communicable diseases is possible.
