Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital environment
• High-volume facility with 200-300+ births per month
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) totaling 36 hours per week
• May be required to float within the facility
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Involves antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric care
• Responsibilities may include circulating and recovering C-sections, fetal monitoring, and management of high-risk conditions such as postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (or NCC C-EFM in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Epic charting system experience required
• IV start and IV therapy skills required
• Experience with central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) preferred
• Experience with spiral electrode placement and IUPC placement/calibration preferred
• Experience with cervical cerclage and tubal ligation procedures preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing the contract, either by visiting an in-state location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if located far from Ohio
