Know Football? Ready to Lead a Team?

MASI Sports Academy is seeking a dependable, knowledgeable, and motivated Flag Football Coach to help lead an intramural league at William Wirt Middle School.

This is more than a practice-coaching position. You'll help develop players, organize team activities, support league operations, and create a positive competitive experience for middle school students.

We're looking for someone who understands football, enjoys working with young people, and can combine skill development with organization and leadership.

Former high school and college players, experienced flag football athletes, recreational league players, assistant coaches, and youth coaches with strong football knowledge are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do:

• Lead flag football practices focused on passing, catching, route running, defensive positioning, flag pulling, and game strategy.
• Plan engaging drills, skill stations, scrimmages, and age-appropriate competitive activities.
• Help organize teams, practice routines, game schedules, standings, and results.
• Support the development and smooth operation of the intramural league.
• Teach sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, accountability, and respect.
• Track attendance and communicate regularly with the Program Manager.
• Maintain appropriate supervision and follow all program safety requirements.
• Help create a structured, fun, and competitive environment where students can develop as athletes and leaders.

What We're Looking For:

• Demonstrated football knowledge through playing, coaching, training, or related experience.
• Ability to teach core football skills and lead organized practices.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to engage middle school students and manage group activities.
• Dependability, initiative, and a commitment to student safety.
• Availability Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00–6:00 PM for the full six-week season.
• Ability to complete required background clearance before working with students.

Preferred, but not required:

• Previous flag football coaching or playing experience.
• High school, college, recreational league, or competitive football experience.
• Experience organizing teams, leagues, or youth sports activities.
• CPR/First Aid certification or youth development experience.

Formal coaching experience is not the only pathway. If you have a strong football background, can teach the fundamentals, and are ready to help lead a youth league, we encourage you to apply.

Why Coach With MASI?

• Take an active role in building a youth sports league.
• Develop your coaching, leadership, and program management skills.
• Help students build confidence, character, and competitive experience.
• Potentially access additional coaching opportunities as MASI expands.

Our approach is grounded in S.O.A.R.: Strength, Ownership, Achievement, and Responsibility.
