We are currently seeking a Full-time Driver/Watchman at our Houston - Woodway community.

Job Title: Driver/Watchman

This is a dual role that combines resident transportation services with community security and safety oversight.

As a Driver, you will carry out transportation programs according to the recreation calendar and the direction of the Transportation Director. This includes preparing for, setting up, and cleaning up after programs, recruiting program participants, maintaining resident participation and interest records, and promoting concierge services and positive resident and guest relations.

As a Watchman, you will help protect the community, its residents, and guests by preventing illegal activity, staying alert to any attempts to damage property or cause harm, and enforcing community policies regarding security. You will exercise discretion in authorizing entry and exit, conduct security screenings, and respond first to incidents and emergencies on the premises.

The Driver/Watchman reports directly to our Concierge Director, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the community's Concierge department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure transportation occurs timely and as scheduled per the calendar and appointments, as directed by the Transportation Director.
• Carry out the resident transportation schedule routinely and effectively.
• Use an energetic approach when communicating with residents.
• Get acquainted with every resident and complete resident interest surveys to better plan programs.
• Provide concierge services for transportation and social events.
• Arrive to work on time and maintain regular attendance with minimal absences.
• Complete an hour-by-hour log of all activities observed on the premises.
• Routinely inspect the parking garage and grounds for any suspicious activity.
• Respond first to incidents and emergencies, taking charge of any situation observed on the premises.
• Direct and assist guests, serving as an approachable, knowledgeable first point of contact.
• Maintain a daily record of observations and developments and deliver it to the Executive Director to keep leadership apprised of community status.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of related experience (event planning, hospitality, senior living, or security), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License with a passenger "P" endorsement.
• Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and demonstrate competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Energetic demeanor with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Sound organizational and time-management skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to use computers and related software programs.
• Knowledge of local community resources and vendors.
• Ability to work schedules as warranted by activities, events, transportation, and security needs.
