Responsibilities
As a Forklift Operator, you will:
- Locate, pull, and transport full or empty bins, pallets of finished products, packaging supplies, and equipment to designated areas
- Perform daily forklift inspections and preventative maintenance checks on assigned equipment
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated workstations
- Move products to and from pre-staged orders
- Shrink wrap pallets and prepare shipments for transport
- Verify and count incoming supplies and materials against manifests
- Monitor packaging supplies and raw materials used daily and notify the office of potential shortages
- Operate power lift equipment safely and in accordance with all training requirements
- Complete and maintain forklift safety certification requirements
- Follow all established safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Comply with all quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Support the company’s commitment to quality, food safety, product legality, and integrity
- Attend and participate in company committees, including Safety Committee meetings
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operating experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and power lift equipment
- Willingness to complete and maintain required forklift and equipment safety certifications
- Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments and inventory
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures
