This role is responsible for analyzing Pathology and Laboratory claims to determine eligibility in the dispute resolution process in accordance with Federal regulations and internal policies.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze patient accounts to identify missing or incorrect data, including demographics, insurance details, CPT/ICD codes, and other billing elements.Correct and update billing records within the billing software to ensure accuracy and compliance.Review EOBs and payment remittances from healthcare providers and insurance carriers to determine whether claims require re‑submission, reconsideration, appeal, or escalation.Prepare compliant correspondence that is clear, concise, and aligned with regulatory and internal standards.Communicate with health plans via electronic systems to obtain claim status, denial reasons, or additional required information.Track claim statuses across multiple operating systems and maintain accurate documentation.Stay current on industry regulations to ensure proper handling of claims and dispute processes.Maintain organized physical and electronic claim files for all eligible claims.Position DetailsFLSA Status: Non‑ExemptSchedule: Full‑time, in‑person (5 days/week) at our Houston corporate officePay Range: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, DOEWork Location: In person, 5 days per week at our Houston corporate office.2+ years of experience in Medical Billing & Collections, Denials, or Appeals within a healthcare setting.High School Diploma or GED required.Experience reviewing medical claims, EOBs, and remittances across multiple specialties (e.g., HCFA 1500, Outpatient, Podiatry, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Toxicology, etc.).Strong understanding of insurance reimbursement rules, COB, and claim‑processing workflows.Ability to meet daily claim‑processing quotas.High attention to detail and accuracy across multiple operating systems.Ability to identify improper billing patterns and recommend corrective actions.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain reasoning clearly.Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in challenging situations.Preferred QualificationsCertification as a Medical Billing Insurance Specialist or Certified Procedural Coder.OR 2+ years of continuous healthcare experience in lieu of certification.At Sagis, we offer:Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceCompany-Paid Short-term and Long-term Disability, Basic Life, EAPVoluntary Accident/Critical Illness/Life insuranceFair Wages401(k) ContributionVacationPaid Parental LeaveFloating HolidaysScheduled HolidaysComfortable work environmentWellness InitiativesTuition AssistanceJob Training/Career DevelopmentGreat Team LeadersWork Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Sagis Pllc
