Under the direction of the director, the RN Charge Nurse utilizes the nursing process, facilitates patient care making nursing assessments and diagnosis, formulates care plans based on the diagnosis and implements and evaluates the plan of care, performs other duties as assigned.

Hours may vary and could include four 10-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates clinical care that is safe, best outcome practice with all Core Measures compliant.
2. Documents care provision per departmental standards.
3. Demonstrates compliance with all HCAHPS behaviors to allow patients and families to have an excellent hospital experience.
4. Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
5. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, and educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.
6. Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
7. Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
8. Other duties as assigned.
9. Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.

Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Licensure & Certifications: Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required

**The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent delegation and follow-through abilities, and recent hospital experience, preferably in a Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) role.**

-Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

-Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage multiple patients in a dynamic environment.

-A stable employment history is preferred. Candidates who have demonstrated commitment and longevity in prior roles are generally more likely to be successful long-term members of the team.

-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

-Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
