What You Will Do:

• Operate commercial tractor-trailers and other assigned equipment safely while completing long-distance truckload, general freight, and potential LTL deliveries.
• Plan efficient routes, communicate professionally with dispatch, and manage delivery schedules with a strong commitment to on-time service.
• Perform thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route vehicle inspections while following DOT compliance requirements and company safety standards.
• Secure, transport, load, and unload freight as assigned, protecting customer cargo and accurately completing shipping and receiving documentation.
• Represent Baker Transportation with courtesy and accountability at customer locations, terminals, and throughout every mile of your route.

What You Bring:

• You hold a valid Commercial Drivers License, preferably a Class A CDL, and have the confidence to operate commercial vehicles safely and responsibly.
• You understand DOT regulations, hours-of-service expectations, vehicle inspection practices, and the importance of accurate transportation documentation.
• You bring over-the-road driving experience or the ability to succeed in a long-haul trucking environment with changing routes and delivery needs.
• You demonstrate strong routing, time-management, and communication skills to work effectively with dispatchers, customers, and fellow transportation professionals.
• You have a high school diploma or equivalent and a dependable, safety-first approach to every assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Endorsements such as air brake, N, double trailer, or hazardous materials endorsements can strengthen your application and expand the freight you may support.
• Experience with LTL freight, transportation logistics, loading and unloading, forklift operation, or heavy equipment operation is valued.
• A Transportation Worker Identification Credential and familiarity with shipping and receiving processes are beneficial.
