MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST

The George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) is looking for a Mammography Technologist (Full-Time). Website: Responsibilities Work under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/Lead to perform diagnostic mammography images and ensure patient safety protocols. Serve as the first line interface with patients for mammograms and perform other duties as assigned. Benefit Highlights Challenging and rewarding work environment Competitive Compensation & Generous Paid Time Off Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plans 401(K) with company match and discounted stock plan SoFi Student Loan Refinancing Program Career development opportunities within UHS and its 300+ Subsidiaries Qualifications 2 years prior mammography experience Certified Mammographer through ARRT Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology Current ARRT Certification in Radiology and Mammography Must have current BLS certification and remain current thereafter Able to operate a mammography unit Able to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms Familiarity with breast biopsies Ability to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is performed Knowledge of medical terminology Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form, solve practical problems, and interpret instructions. Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology, Title 22). Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff and interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
