CNC Set-Up Machinist

Job Description

Location: Fenton, MO
2nd Shift: 2:30pm-10:30pm/Mon-Fri
Pay: $30.59 hr
Direct Hire placement

The CNC Setup Machinist works with Engineering to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC machines used to produce manufacturing tooling. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of mechanics and shop math.

Job Requirements

• Associate degree in machining or 5 years of machining experience.
• Reads engineering drawings, setup instructions, and tool lists.
• Sets up and maintains tooling, including drills, end mills, taps, and reamers.
• Uses basic machinist tools, including calipers, micrometers, and indicators
• Installs vises and fixtures accurately and safely.
• Maintains CNC machines, including coolant, cleaning, and filter changes.
• Operates a multi-axis CNC machine center safely.
• Troubleshoots basic CNC programs.
• Calibrates probes, tool setters, and setup equipment.
• Adjusts tool/work offsets and part rotation.
• Prepares material using saws, grinders, and related equipment.
• Machines precision parts accurately and efficiently.
• Operates forklifts and lifting equipment safely.
