RN Med Surg | Huntersville, North Carolina

A dynamic contract opportunity is available for experienced MedSurg/Tele RNs in a high-acuity hospital setting. This position offers diverse patient care across multiple units, focusing on adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses ranging from COPD and CHF exacerbations to trauma, pulmonary embolism, and stroke. You'll work with an integrated team in a large, teaching Level I Trauma center that excels in both patient care and staff support.


Schedule/Hours

• 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirements
• 75% of holiday coverage required
• Scheduling cycle: every 6 weeks
• Up to 6 days of requested time off (holidays not included, adjust end date if needed)

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid RN license with 2+ years recent Med/Tele experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficient with general Med/Tele skills: cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, trach care, PIV starts, NGT placement, chest tube management, tube/drain care, PCA pumps, and cardiac/IV medication management
• Familiarity with Epic EMR, Omnicell, Alaris pumps
• Resourcefulness and adaptability for floating to various regional units within scope of practice

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatrics across MedSurg and Telemetry units
• Independently monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms each shift
• Manage medication infusions, blood products, drips, and critical patient interventions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists, intensivists, CNAs, and ancillary staff
• Support patient safety initiatives and coordinate care transitions as necessary
• Float to designated units within the regional network as needed
