Software Development Manager, Satellite Embedded Systems

Salary: $184,200 - 184,200 per year Requirements:

• We require 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• We require 7+ years of direct experience working within engineering teams.
• We require 3+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including patterns for reliability and scale.
• We require 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• We require familiarity with engineering practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
• We require experience with embedded systems projects.
• We require U.S. citizenship or national status, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission to the U.S. as a refugee or asylee.

• We manage a team responsible for software on storage devices and over-the-air updates for Kuiper satellites.
• We hire and support high-performing talent to help our team achieve its goals.
• We define and drive the teams multi-year vision.
• We oversee resource planning so business and employee development objectives are met.
• We take part in strategic planning to deliver technical and business outcomes.
• We partner closely with engineers to design and deliver strong technical solutions and approaches.
• We design, develop, and test embedded software that controls individual satellites.
