Controller

Lutz

*Only the most qualified candidates will be contacted If you’re an accounting leader who enjoys having a real seat at the table — not simply producing reports after the fact — this could be a great opportunity. We’re partnering with our client in Central, Nebraska, a long-standing, family-owned agricultural manufacturing company seeking a Controller to take ownership of its accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on Controller position within a small, blue-collar manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with company leadership, oversee the day-to-day accounting function, and play an important role in the organization's eventual transition from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Business Central. What You’ll Do Lead the company's accounting and financial reporting functions Oversee month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for company leadership Manage accounting processes related to a manufacturing environment, including inventory and operational activity Provide financial insight and support to the executive leadership team Oversee payroll-related accounting and applicable tax/compliance processes Maintain and continue improving accounting procedures, controls, and workflows Partner with leadership on budgeting, planning, and other financial initiatives Help prepare the organization for its future ERP transition from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Identify opportunities to further streamline and automate accounting processes What They’re Looking For Strong accounting experience with the ability to independently lead a Controller-level function Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred Agricultural or ag-related manufacturing experience would be especially valuable Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is highly preferred Comfortable learning and working across multiple accounting and operational systems A practical, hands-on approach — someone who can operate effectively without layers of corporate infrastructure Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with company ownership and leadership Thick-skinned, adaptable personality that fits well in a blue-collar, small-town environment Someone who can respect established processes while continuing to identify opportunities for improvement This is an opportunity to step into an established accounting function that has already undergone significant modernization — and put your own stamp on what comes next. If you enjoy manufacturing, appreciate a down-to-earth environment, and want the autonomy to truly own the financial side of a business, this role is worth a conversation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
