Job Description Summary MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. Perform medical exams using X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) Hourly Health-27 Work Shift Perform medical exams using X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Ability to utilize portable x-ray equipment Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area, requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Performs complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures to ensure comprehensive and diagnostic accuracy in a professional manner. Completion of an accredited radiology program, usually a two-year associate degree in radiology. Radiographer certification (ARRT) such as the one offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Two to three years’ experience in performing ultrasound diagnostic procedures preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
