Dance Instructor

Job Details Location: Skokie, IL 60076 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $26.00 Hourly Responsibilities Develop, organize, and instruct various forms of dance including hip hop, ballet, contemporary and/or jazz to children aged 5 to 18 years and some adult classes. Prepare detailed lesson plans that are age appropriate. Responsible for choreography, music selection and costume selection for the annual dance recital. Plan and implement dance parties and dance special events as requested. Follow District safety standards, closely supervise children, and provide a learning environment that is safe and fun for program participants. Schedule Thursday classes are available between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM for summer, June 11 – July 30. Thursday classes are available between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM for fall beginning in September. Qualifications Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Education or related field. Prefer at least one to three years of experience in youth dance instruction including ballet, tap, contemporary and/or jazz, and acro. Must possess excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.
