This role is responsible for strategic planning and collaboration with the Donor Engagement (DE) office in building a culture of philanthropy on campus. In addition, they provide peer leadership for students interested in campus fundraising. They will also help with direct mail, email, and social media pieces to be used in various Annual Giving young alumni and student campaigns throughout the year.****EXPERIENCE/SKILLS GAINED:***** This position provides opportunities to expand and demonstrate your leadership skills, network with professionals and alumni, and offers further learning opportunities in fundraising, communications, and project management.* This position provides quality resume-building experience that employers value, particularly in fields such as communications, public relations, non-profit, and marketing.****PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY:***** At least one semester of experience as a Phonathon Ambassador strongly preferred.* At least one semester of leadership within Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) preferred.****JOB DUTIES:***** *Calling responsibilities (1-2 shifts per week)* + Use internal fundraising software to call alumni and parents to renew, increase, and acquire gifts for the Undergraduate, Law, and Graduate schools, with emphasis on the Annual Fund. + Demonstrate exceptional calling ability, consistently maintain calling best practices, and serve as an example for peers. + Maintain strict confidentiality of all donor information. Information should not be discussed among colleagues or outside of the building. + Other duties as assigned.* *Student fundraising and support responsibilities (4-6 hours per week)* + Coordinate with campus partners such as Student Engagement, Student Philanthropy Council, Associated Student Body (ASB), and the Senior Experience Committee to plan large on-campus philanthropy campaigns such as Senior Gift, Giving Tuesday, and Days of Giving. + Develop engaging marketing and solicitation materials for Senior Gift, Giving Tuesday, and Days of Giving for young alumni and current CAS students. + Develop incentives to promote young alumni and student giving. + Conduct outreach and lead training sessions for students interested in campus fundraising during Giving Tuesday and Days of Giving. + Develop a calendar and plan for the Senior Gift campaign to secure gifts from 100 senior donors by graduation. + Recruit volunteers to help with Senior Gift campaign and other student fundraising activities + Solicit gifts for Senior Gift campaign and other student fundraising activities + Analyze and advise the Donor Engagement team on young alumni and student giving trends to encourage participation in philanthropy + Other duties as assigned****QUALIFICATIONS:***** This position requires a strong sense of organization, the capacity to collaborate and coordinate with others, and a commitment to building a culture of philanthropy on campus.* Prior experience with Phonathon or Student Philanthropy Council (preferably in a leadership role) is strongly desired; as is a good basis in fundraising.* All students must complete a Federal I-9 Employment Eligibility form, W-4 form, and Confidentiality Agreement by their hire date.****RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS DIVERSITY:***** Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark College.* Ability to work well with team members and constituents who may have differing or opposing views.* Demonstrate interest and care in implementing diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility into volunteer management strategies and fundraising.****SCHEDULE:***** Office shifts are available Monday-Thursday 10:00am-5:00pm. Calling shifts are available Monday-Thursday 5:00pm-8:45pm and Sunday 4:00pm-7:45pm.* Calling shifts are 3.75 hours from September-October and February-March. In November and April, outreach shifts are 2.75 hours. On occasion, optional December and May shifts are available.* The Student Fundraising Liaison is asked to commit to a minimum of 11.5 hours per week that will include 4-6 hours in the office and 1-2 calling shifts. During events and other high volume periods in the Donor Engagement Office, this position is expected to work up to 3-4 additional hours per week.* This position is expected to be available to plan and run tabling at Days of Giving (March) and Cap & Gown (May).* Office hours are meant for strategic planning, high-level event coordination, work with the DE team on messaging, and volunteer coordination.
