Role and Responsibilities Under limited supervision, Not-For-Profit Audit Managers must perform each duty satisfactorily. The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and abilities required and are, therefore, essential functions. Build on knowledge acquired in previous experience to increase functional level of technical and operational knowledge to proficiently perform assigned tasks Review workpapers in conformity with standards including scope/objective/procedure/conclusion, adequate supporting documentation, and tickmark and workpaper cross references Verify all workpaper comments have been cleared, reports and other engagement documentation is accurate, and binder information is complete for each engagement through use of firm software applications and quality control review Demonstrates continued progression in number, complexity, and scope of complex engagements managed Determines timelines for completion of and staffing for assigned engagements Delegates work, plans, and manages workflow and multiple engagements to ensure timely completion Presents final results to client boards and councils Exercise and model strict confidentiality and information security practices Is assigned bill manager responsibility for a significant volume of revenue Follow firm accounts receivable policy and cease working on clients with a balance of 90+ days; as bill manager, calls the client for collections and/or to set up payment terms Accurately report and release billable and non-billable time consistently and understand its importance Maintain strong realization on revenue billed with a target goal of 85% or above Develop new clients and market additional services to assist with firm growth; meet or trend upward toward targeted revenue Manage, develop, and train staff; is significantly involved in off-season staff training and development Apply advanced-level technical knowledge in practice area, identifying ways to become more valuable Adhere to agreed-upon work schedule Preferred Skills Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing Ability to use critical thinking to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of CNC Higher-level knowledge of office technology, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), all CNC accounting applications and CRM software Ability to apply basic mathematical skills Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative data to draw conclusions and make recommendations Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with appropriate GPA Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Service Advanced knowledge of IRS Circular 230 Regulations Governing Practice Before the IRS and the AICPA Code of Conduct Comprehensive knowledge of the Single Audit Act 4-7 years of experience working in public accounting CPA certification Specialization or focus in Not-for-Profit entities including A133, Community Foundations and small/mid-size organizations Supervisory Responsibilities This position will directly supervise others and is responsible for the development and training of their direct reports. Working Conditions Typical office environment with standard office hours. Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., fiscal year-end, tax season).
