Job Description

Physical Therapist – Outpatient Ortho & Sports Medicine

Just South of Worcester, MA | $82,000–$104,000 + Bonus | Full-Time

What would outpatient PT feel like if you had 40 minutes one-on-one with every patient — with no double booking, no overlapping appointments, and no treatments handed off to aides?

An established, independent outpatient physical therapy practice just south of Worcester is growing and looking for a Physical Therapist who wants the time, autonomy, clinical resources, and experienced colleagues to practice well.

You'll evaluate your own patients and follow them throughout their course of care, giving you the continuity to see the results of the treatment plan you've built.

Why This Practice Is Different

40-Minute, 1:1 Patient Care

This isn't a high-volume model.

You'll have:

  • 40-minute one-on-one appointments
  • No double booking or overlapping patients
  • No treatments handed off to aides
  • Continuity with your patients throughout their course of care
  • A primarily orthopedic and sports medicine caseload
  • Patients ranging from children and athletes through active older adults
  • Flexibility to develop a clinical niche or area of interest

The goal is to give therapists enough time and autonomy to provide individualized, evidence-based care rather than simply move patients through a schedule.

Learn From People Who Have Been Doing This a Long Time

The clinical team averages more than 16 years of experience , with an average tenure of nearly eight years with the practice .

The environment is collaborative and laid-back, with experienced clinicians who are willing to share what they know.

New team members are also offered formal mentorship to help with the transition into the practice and support continued clinical development.

A Fitness-Forward Approach to Rehabilitation

This practice believes rehabilitation shouldn't stop once a patient is simply functional enough to discharge.

An onsite, fully equipped fitness and wellness space gives therapists the ability to progress patients into meaningful strengthening, conditioning, higher-level function, and return to sport.

You'll also have access to contemporary treatment and performance tools, aquatic therapy when appropriate, and management that is receptive to clinician ideas about equipment, programming, and treatment approaches.

Have a clinical niche you'd like to develop? There's room for that, too. Therapists can help develop specialty programming, classes, or sport-specific services around their interests.

Invest in the Clinician You Want to Become

You'll receive $2,500 in continuing-education reimbursement , with flexibility to pursue topics that genuinely interest you.

Want to broaden your clinical skills? Great.

Want to develop a specialty? That's encouraged too.

The practice also offers opportunities to grow without having to leave for another organization. Potential pathways include advanced clinical roles, clinical education, leadership and management.

And because the practice itself is growing, there may be additional opportunities for clinicians interested in helping shape what's next.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $82,000–$104,000 , based on experience.

Additional compensation and benefits include:

  • Achievable monthly bonus opportunities
  • Sign-on bonus based on experience
  • Health insurance with employer contribution
  • Dental and vision insurance
  • Short-term disability coverage
  • Retirement plan with 3% employer match
  • $2,500 continuing-education reimbursement
  • Student-loan repayment contribution
  • Massachusetts PT license reimbursement
  • Professional liability insurance reimbursement
  • Partial APTA membership reimbursement
  • More than two weeks of PTO to start, with additional PTO based on experience
  • Paid holidays, including your birthday
  • Free onsite gym membership for you and your immediate family
  • Employer-provided clinical and patient-education resources

Who Could Be a Fit?

Both experienced Physical Therapists and newer clinicians are encouraged to explore the opportunity.

You'll need to be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in Massachusetts.

More importantly, this practice is looking for someone who values:

  • Individualized patient care
  • Clinical autonomy
  • Evidence-based practice
  • Strength and functional progression
  • Continued learning
  • Collaboration with experienced clinicians
  • Building lasting relationships with patients

If you enjoy outpatient orthopedics but have wondered whether there's a way to practice it with more time, more continuity, and less pressure to juggle multiple patients at once , this is worth a conversation.
