Senior Payroll Specialist - Multi-State & Compliance Expert

Senior Payroll Specialist Location: North Side of Indianapolis, IN Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually (depending on experience) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to manage and execute accurate, timely payroll processing for a growing organization on the north side of Indianapolis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and serves as a subject matter expert on payroll compliance, systems, and best practices. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for multi-state employees with a high degree of accuracy Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations Maintain and audit payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and benefits Serve as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and payroll tax filings Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate employee data Support payroll audits and year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy Assist with payroll system upgrades, implementations, or integrations as needed Qualifications 5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid-to-large-sized organization Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax reporting, and wage/hour regulations Experience processing multi-state payroll strongly preferred Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday, Paychex, or similar) #J-18808-Ljbffr
