Infection Preventionist - Quality Management

Description Spohn Hospital Alice was built in 1999 to serve the healthcare needs of people in Alice and the surrounding communities. The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and is licensed for 186 beds and offers comprehensive medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency and intensive care, as well as cardiac and comprehensive services. Summary In a High Reliability Organization, the Infection Preventionist is responsible for monitoring and implementing Infection Surveillance, Prevention, and Control. The role oversees the local infection prevention and control program under the direction of the Infection Prevention or Quality Leader. Responsibilities include providing expertise on infection risk assessment, surveillance, prevention, and control strategies; serving as a resource to the management team on infection prevention guidelines; applying epidemiology principles to monitor patient care delivery and investigate potential outbreaks; assisting with action plans to mitigate the spread of infection through collaboration with leadership; maintaining knowledge of external regulatory standards related to infection surveillance, prevention, and control; and contributing to the hospital’s policies and practices per CDC and State guidelines. Must be proficient in computer skills using EXCEL, PowerPoint, MSOffice, and Flowchart tools. Must communicate effectively to different audiences. Job Requirements Education/Skills Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health, or other health-related field required. Associate degree nurses may also be considered. Experience 3 years of healthcare or public health experience preferred. Prior Infection Prevention experience preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications CBIC CIC (Certification in Infection Control) within 3 years of hire. Work Schedule 8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday Work Type Full Time #J-18808-Ljbffr
