Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 09:00 - 21:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Previous PACU experience 1 year of ICU experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit has 14 beds with a patient ratio of 2:1. Staffing will include RNs only. The type of equipment utilized includes Phillips monitors. The documentation system employed is Meditech. Scheduling options include 3 shifts of 12 hours or 4 shifts of 9 hours. Floating to other units may be required minimally. Advanced skills needed include management of post-op craniotomies, spine surgeries, thoracotomies, general GI/GU cases, vascular and bariatric procedures, as well as management of arterial lines, chest tubes, and central lines. No procedures are performed on the unit. Candidates should be aware that there are opportunities for block scheduling. One weekend call shift is required per month. The dress code consists of any dark color scrubs.
