Motorization Specialist

Job Description

A motorization specialist combines traditional window treatment installation skills with advanced low-voltage electrical and smart-home technology expertise. They work in residential setting to set up motorized blinds, automated shades and drapery tracks.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Setup: Sync motorized window coverings with hand remotes, wall switches, mobile apps, and smart home ecosystems like Alexa, Google Home, Lutron, or Crestron. [1, 2, 3]
Wiring & Power Management: Route low-voltage wiring, connect battery or hardwired power sources, and plan power panel locations during pre-planning or retrofit phases. [1, 2]
Client Education: Demonstrate system operation to customers, explain scheduling and automation features, and troubleshoot on-site technical glitches. [1, 2, 3]
