Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
• Perform and monitor arterial blood gas punctures, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, and 12-Lead EKGs with basic arrhythmia recognition
• Manage mechanical ventilation including equipment setup, self-testing, operation, and maintenance across various ventilator types
• Assist with advanced respiratory procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines
• Document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in patient records and communicate findings during shift-to-shift handoff rounds

Required Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license or certification applicable to the state of Ohio
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Ability to practice with minimal supervision within the scope of professional licensure
• Competency in operating and maintaining a wide range of respiratory and ventilatory equipment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in intensive or critical care respiratory settings
• Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases
• Experience with video laryngoscope systems and PleurX catheter drainage
