Environmental Services Custodian View Behavioral Health LLC Long Beach, California, United States About this position About View Behavioral Health We are proud to serve as a trusted resource for our community, providing high-quality mental health care with compassion and integrity. Our Long Beach facility currently operates as a 79-bed adult voluntary acute inpatient program, offering private rooms and individualized treatment delivered by a multidisciplinary team. We are dedicated to best practices and person-centered care, supporting each patient's journey toward stability and recovery. To promote continuity of care beyond inpatient treatment, we also offer Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs tailored to meet each individual's clinical needs. We are also actively expanding our services across Southern California, with our new San Bernardino campus expected to open in early 2026. Schedule: 12 hour shifts Full Time AM 6:00am-6:30p Full Time PM 11am-11:30p Position Summary Ocean View Environmental Services Custodians staff play crucial roles on our team. Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and Hospital Administrator, ESCs perform a variety of tasks to ensure that the facility is in a clean, orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition. Staff ensure a safe and clean environment according to OSHA standards. Make a difference by providing quality care alongside us at Ocean View! Key Responsibilities Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, strips, waxes, shampoos, and cleans floor surfaces. Cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephones, vents and scour, polish and sanitize sinks, counters, stainless surfaces and waste receptacles. Empties waste receptacles; cleans solid waste containers. Wash windows and walls; may remove draperies, rugs, and other bulky items. Moves and arranges furniture as needed for cleaning or presentation purposes. Reports defective furniture and equipment needed for repairs to the Supervisor. Maintains essential equipment and utility closets in a clean and orderly manner. Perform tasks using appropriate infection control techniques. Demonstrate understandingand becompliant with Patients' Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols Preferred Qualifications Minimum of six months of experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or hospital setting. Bilingual in English and Spanish, or other languages commonly spoken by the patient population High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across disciplines and departments. Must possess adequate auditory capacity to communicate clearly and follow verbal instructions. May be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Depending on assignment of position may be required to work in a locked unit with juveniles, formerly incarcerated, and individuals assigned to guardianship who have complex social, and psycho-social needs; may be assigned to evening or night shift, assigned to work weekends, and to work holidays as needed as Ocean View is a 24-hour, 7 day a week facility and coverage is essential; environment can be noisy and sporadically chaotic, and may be exposed to hostile patients and profanity.
