HR Specialist About the Role
An established organization is seeking an HR Specialist to support payroll operations and key human resources functions. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while contributing to a broad range of HR activities, including compliance, recruiting, and employee support.


This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience across multiple HR disciplines while building a strong foundation in payroll.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS systems
• Assist with onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
• Support HR-related inquiries from employees and management
• Conduct initial phone screenings
• Assist with job postings and requisition creation
• Ensure timely follow-up with candidates
• Support reporting requirements including EEO, wage & hour, and OSHA
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and labor regulations
• Assist with audits, surveys, and labor law postings
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders on compliance-related matters
• Process weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Audit and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Coordinate employment verifications
• Support general ledger inputs related to payroll
• Assist with policy communication and enforcement
• Support employee relations documentation and reporting
• Contribute to HR initiatives and process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 0-3+ years of experience in payroll, HR, or related administrative roles
• Exposure to payroll processing and/or HRIS systems
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems
• Exposure to benefits administration or onboarding processes
• Basic understanding of employment laws and HR compliance

Compensation
Salary range: $50,000 - $65,000, based on experience
