Accounts Payable Auditor - County Auditor's Office

Responsibilities Audits invoices for payment. Verifies that each invoice matches the items on the purchase order, ensuring amounts agree to the purchase order and/or contract or bid items. Ensures that the departments remain in compliance with county procedures. Processes payments for all county departments, the Fee Officer Departments, and refunds. Assists vendors and county departments with questions concerning invoices. Processes payroll deductions to vendors. Works with Purchasing on billing issues with vendors. Processes various weekly check runs and transfers check files to the Treasurer’s Office for printing of checks. Runs reports for distribution to various departments concerning check runs. Maintains vendor records for 1099 purposes. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster, as directed by appropriate county managers. Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (an Associate’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, plus the required 3 years of accounting experience, may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree). 3 years of accounting experience. Knowledge of accounting and other finance-related areas. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through independently on assigned projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people effectively and professionally. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $28.80 – $36.00 hourly, based on qualifications.
