Data Analyst (FGP) - Manhattan, Central Billing Office

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst (FGP) – Manhattan, Central Billing Office. In this role, the successful candidate’s primary function is to provide financial and reporting support to the Faculty Group Practice (FGP) to achieve the organization’s financial and operational goals. The analyst will work with several teams to measure FGP performance, identify areas of improvement, and assist in managing project initiatives. This includes collaborating with Business Intelligence (IT), Revenue Cycle Systems (Epic), Corporate Management, and operational teams to maintain and manage data, reports, and reporting tools. Job Responsibilities Independently develop analytical frameworks for large, complete data sets and exercise discretion and judgment in analytical approach. Perform root cause analysis to determine cash delays and inaccuracies; summarize findings in a digestible format for senior leadership with clear results and thoughtful recommendations. Evaluate data and reports with teams such as Practice Operations, Credentialing, and Managed Care to identify opportunities for revenue and operational enhancement. Analyze data to provide insights on trends and potential issues; proactively develop work plans and solutions with management to address problems using actionable insights. Maintain a rigorous process for error checking and troubleshooting discrepancies; synthesize complex problems and evaluate potential solutions. Collaborate with NYU Langone Health and IT divisions, including Epic and Epic add‑on systems, ensuring reports and dashboards are updated, disseminated, and operate correctly; assist in creating additional reporting and dashboard systems such as Tableau as needed. Work as part of a team and independently on multiple projects, prioritizing to meet deadlines. Mentor junior team members on best practices and provide support when necessary. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1‑2 years of experience in healthcare or a related field. Proficiency in common software systems; knowledge of Tableau is a plus. Comfortable working with databases and manipulating large data sets. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interest in healthcare business. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs.
