MRI Technologist

Position BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full‑Time Senior MRI Advanced Modality Technologist for the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) located in the Radiation Oncology Department at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital. Additional Information Day Shift Hours: Monday – Friday No call or weekend coverage 5% Advanced Modality Differential Work will involve Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and related modalities (CT, radiation therapy, X‑ray, etc.) Requirements Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography – R.T.(R) and/or MR Associate’s Degree or equivalent trade school education (or higher) Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical imaging Experience MRI licensed (preferred) Experience with MR, CT, RT, X‑ray, or related modalities is advantageous Role Purpose Performs all responsibilities of an Advanced Modality Technologist, assumes Lead Technician duties in their absence, and assists with training of students and new employees. Responsibilities Prepare patients and equipment for procedures. Perform studies independently and manage portable exams as required. Maintain regulatory compliance (ACR, JC) and oversee quality assurance programs. Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives, leading efforts to enhance patient experience and employee engagement. Mentor new employees and clinical students. Maintain consistent safety‑sensitive performance. Minimum Requirements Associate or Trade School Equivalency; 2 to 5 years of experience. Supervisor Experience No previous supervisory experience required. Licenses & Certifications IEMA (Illinois only, excl. MRI) RT.(R), CT, MR, and related certifications Preferred Requirements 5 to 10 years of experience; additional certifications such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Intravenous Therapy.
