Senior Software Architect – Self-Service Cloud Infrastructure

Our partner is an enterprise AI infrastructure and cloud platform provider building a high-performance, self-service cloud ecosystem. They are seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead the technical design and ongoing evolution of their cloud control plane, developer console, and foundational backend services—including core APIs, multi-tenant account structures, billing, and automated provisioning systems.

This role balances high-level architecture with continuous, hands-on production engineering. The ideal candidate will establish system patterns while personally writing high volumes of clean Python code, bridging backend services, Go microservices, and React/TypeScript user interfaces into a unified platform. Proximity to a regional office hub within the US or Canada is preferred, but exceptional remote candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Set the technical roadmap, system design standards, and service boundaries across the self-service developer portal, cloud console, and emerging feature sets.
• Hands-on Python Development: Personally deliver reliable, maintainable, production-ready Python code for core backend components and control plane logic.
• API & System Integration: Design scalable RESTful APIs with robust authentication (OAuth2/OIDC), establishing clean contracts between Python services, Go microservices, and React/TypeScript frontends.
• Data Modeling & Provisioning: Architect relational schemas (using SQLAlchemy/PostgreSQL/MySQL) for usage metering, tenant isolation, billing engines, and automated resource orchestration.
• Platform Alignment: Partner closely with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams to align application architecture with underlying OpenStack, Ceph storage, and Kubernetes environments.
• Engineering Standard-Setting: Conduct design reviews, mentor developers, break down complex requirements into deliverable epics, and establish safe, predictable CI/CD workflows.

Technical Qualifications

• Advanced Python Expertise: Strong background in building production API services using frameworks like FastAPI or Flask, along with ORMs (SQLAlchemy) and templating (Jinja2).
• Distributed Systems Design: Demonstrated success architecting multi-tenant SaaS or cloud platform services at production scale with emphasis on observability and fault tolerance.
• API & Security Fundamentals: Deep familiarity with RESTful design, token-based authentication/authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), and relational database optimization.
• Containerization & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git-driven deployment pipelines.
• Leadership & Communication: Excellent ability to convey complex technical trade-offs to cross-functional partners and mentor engineering teams.

Preferred Experience

• Go & Frontend Exposure: Practical ability to write or review Go microservices, alongside working knowledge of React/TypeScript for frontend collaboration.
• Cloud Infrastructure Ecosystems: Familiarity with OpenStack APIs, Ceph storage arrays, or open-source cloud management dashboards.
• SaaS Operations & Tooling: Exposure to usage-based metering, tenant isolation frameworks, Odoo ERP/CRM integrations, or Pytest TDD practices in IaaS environments.

Compensation & Work Model

• Work Location: Candidates based in the United States or Canada. Proximity to an office hub is preferred, but open to strong remote candidates across both countries.
• United States Base Salary: $165,000 – $190,000 USD + benefits + equity
• Canada Base Salary: $145,000 – $175,000 CAD + benefits + equity
