About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 1 Year Preferred License: RN License in the state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS Certification from AHA Required Must-Have: EPIC Experience Preferred Description: Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment prior to submission. 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees are available. Shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM. Type of patients on the unit includes post-surgical patients, such as orthopedics and general surgery, and focuses on neuro populations. The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities include meeting the expectations of applicable competencies. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, the Nurse provides care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Education and Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty is preferred. Work Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM Work Type: Full Time
