DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides hands‑on nursing services that support the daily health needs of individuals housed at SCI Laurel Highlands. It focuses on carrying out care plans and delivering essential clinical support. Clinical Support: Perform nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with treatments, and supporting activities of daily living Medication Administration: Prepare and administer prescribed medications and record all related actions accurately Emergency Response: Provide first aid, CPR, or AED support during medical emergencies as appropriate Health Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic health records and prepare reports needed for care continuity Care Coordination: Communicate important information to nursing, custody, and administrative staff to support safe operations Supply Management: Sterilize equipment and maintain proper inventory levels for treatment areas If you have the required medical experience as indicated below and wish to explore a rewarding career that offers the opportunity to share your skills while earning a great salary and benefits, the PA Department of Corrections at SCI Laurel Highlands wants to hear from you! WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Full‑time employment, 40‑hour work week. The Department of Corrections is staffed by three work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

1. st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
2. nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
3. rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am

Work hours to be determined Full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55 Telework: not available Starting annual salary $67,558 (before taxes) for new entrants REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees with an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure within one year from appointment. PA residency requirement currently waived. Applicants within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing are eligible to apply and must provide proof of current PA temporary practice permit or license at appointment. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. Must be able to perform essential job functions. Pass a background investigation and meet CJIS compliance requirements.
