Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – PCU / Stepdown (Nights)

Location

Kansas City, MO | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 shifts per week | 48 hours guaranteed preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 16-bed Stroke & Brain unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and manage cardiac drips
• Perform neurological assessments and apply stroke care protocols
• Utilize unit equipment including Welch Allyn VS Machines, Hoyer lift, Sarah Steady Lift, Bladder Scanner, and Doppler
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech documentation system
• Fulfill scheduling requirements including 3–4 weekend shifts per scheduling period; may float to areas of demonstrated competency

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Demonstrated stroke experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing cardiac drips and neurology patients
• Basic dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
• Background in PCU, stepdown, or IMC care settings
