Job Description Summary:

The Senior Manager, Employee Relations is responsible for overseeing the Employee Relations (ER) team and ensuring the effective management of employee relations cases and investigations. This role requires a strong understanding of legal compliance, workplace laws, and company policies. Additionally, the Senior Manager will provide strategic leadership in addressing employee conflicts, investigating workplace concerns, and ensuring fair and consistent policy application across the organization. This position will also play a key role in analyzing employee relations data to identify trends and implement proactive solutions. The Senior Manager will collaborate with HR partners and business leaders to drive HR initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic goals and foster a positive workplace culture.

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

• Lead, develop, and oversee the Employee Relations team to ensure the consistent application of policies, processes, and best practices.
• Manage complex and high-risk employee relations cases, including investigations into workplace conflicts, discrimination, harassment, and policy violations.
• Provide expert guidance to HR directors, business partners and leadership on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and EEO regulations.
• Oversee and analyze employee relations data, create monthly reports, and identify workplace trends to recommend proactive interventions.
• Collaborate with HR Directors, business partners and business leaders to develop and implement solutions for employee relations challenges, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
• Serve as a key advisor in high-level coaching and counseling for performance management and conflict resolution.
• Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on workplace policies, ethics, performance management, and dispute resolution.
• Partner with legal counsel and HR leadership on complex ER matters, terminations, and policy development.
• Contribute to the overall HR strategy by aligning ER initiatives with business priorities and workforce optimization efforts.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

• Bac h el o r ’ s D egr e e in H u m a n R e s o u rces, Or g a n i z ati o n a l D e v e l o pm ent, o r a rela t ed fiel d.

• 10+ years of progressive employee relations experience, including at least 7 years in a senior leadership role managing an ER team.

• 5+ years of experience managing, directly or indirectly, a progressive Employee Relations function. 

Basic Qualifications

• Extensive experience conducting and managing investigations of complex/sensitive workplace complaints, and government agency claims and audits, including EEOC and state discrimination charges and OFCCP audits, and internal ethics reports.

• Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business.

• Demonstrates project management experience.

• Must have in depth knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws i n cl ud i ng , b u t n o t l i m ited t o , T itle VI, AD A , F M L A, A D E A , e t c.

• Ability to analyze complex issues and facts and summarize essential issues to various audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

Masters in HR strongly preferred. PHR or SPHR certified also preferred. 

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $126,505.85-$210,858.08
