Position Summary

The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation for our customers. Technicians work in a fast-paced service environment performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

At Precision Tune Auto Care, technicians play a key role in delivering trusted automotive service while supporting the store team in achieving operational and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Service & Repairs

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and filter replacements

• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify necessary repairs

• Diagnose mechanical issues using proper tools and diagnostic equipment

• Complete brake services, suspension repairs, and other automotive repairs as required

• Ensure all repairs meet Precision Tune standards for safety and quality

Inspections & Recommendations

• Perform thorough vehicle inspections during each service

• Identify potential maintenance needs or safety concerns

• Communicate recommended repairs clearly to the service advisor or manager

Productivity & Efficiency

• Maintain strong technician productivity and efficiency levels

• Complete services within established labor times

• Maintain an organized and safe work environment

Customer Experience

• Support the team in delivering excellent customer service

• Take pride in the quality of work performed on every vehicle

• Ensure vehicles are clean and properly handled during service

Shop Maintenance & Safety

• Follow all safety procedures and shop policies

• Maintain clean work areas and properly care for shop equipment

• Follow environmental and waste disposal guidelines

Qualifications

• Previous automotive repair experience preferred

• Ability to perform routine maintenance and light mechanical repairs

• Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong work ethic and team-first attitude

Preferred Skills

• ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain)

• Experience with brake systems, suspension, and steering components

• Ability to use digital inspection tools and shop management software

• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, heat, and automotive fluids
