Job Summary We are seeking a full-time Recruiter for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Petaluma, CA, supporting high-volume hiring for traffic control field operations and related support roles. This Recruiter position is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced hourly recruiting, building strong candidate relationships, and partnering closely with operations leaders to meet urgent staffing needs. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a team-oriented environment with supportive leadership, steady operational demand, and meaningful work that directly supports field teams and public safety projects. The Recruiter will play a key role in staffing, onboarding, engagement, and retention while helping create a positive candidate and employee experience. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly field positions, including Flaggers, Traffic Control Supervisors, Crew Leads, and other operational roles. Partner with operations leadership to understand workforce needs, project timelines, seasonal hiring demands, and staffing forecasts. Post job advertisements, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and coordinate pre-employment and onboarding activities. Maintain talent pipelines to support seasonal hiring, surge staffing, and multi-location workforce needs. Support employee engagement and retention efforts, including onboarding check-ins, referral programs, recognition efforts, stay interviews, and exit interviews. Track recruiting and retention metrics, maintain accurate HR records, and collaborate with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to support compliance and staffing goals. Required Qualifications and Skills Manage full-cycle recruiting for high-volume hourly field roles. Build and maintain talent pipelines for seasonal and surge hiring needs. Coordinate screening, interviews, pre-employment steps, and onboarding. Support employee engagement, retention, and first 30 to 90 day new hire communication. High school diploma or GED required. 1 to 3 years of recruiting experience required, preferably in high-volume hourly hiring environments. Experience recruiting field-based workforces or operational teams. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and HR recordkeeping. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple openings, priorities, and deadlines. Clear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with operations, HR, safety teams, candidates, and employees. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing staffing needs and urgent hiring timelines. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of traffic control, construction, field services, or similar operational environments. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Experience supporting multi-location operations. Experience with seasonal hiring, surge staffing, referral programs, stay interviews, or retention initiatives. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of traffic control, construction, field services, or similar operational environments. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Experience supporting multi-location operations.
