Work Environment

The PTA will work onsite at our advanced hospital facility located in Clifton, New Jersey. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a favorable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement rehabilitation programs and treatment plans developed by supervising physical therapists to enhance patients' strength, balance, mobility, and endurance.
• Assist patients with daily activities while encouraging independence through safe mobility practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, tracking progress and effectively communicating changes in patient conditions to the physical therapist and care team.
• Guide residents and their caregivers in appropriate mobility techniques and tailored home exercise programs.
• Educate patients, families, and other staff members on wellness techniques and care strategies to promote overall health.
• Collaborate with fellow healthcare providers, ensuring continuous, coordinated care for each patient.
• Assess and monitor patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans when necessary and promptly reporting any significant findings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist Assistant will primarily work with residents recovering from surgeries, injuries, and those managing chronic conditions within our hospital setting. The goal is to ensure that each individual maintains their functional abilities and maximizes their independence. Our focus is on providing compassionate care, fostering close relationships with our patients to enhance their recovery process and well-being.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid and active New Jersey PTA license is required for this position.

• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for necessary travel between locations.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in physical therapy settings, ideally in rehabilitation, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities.
• Experience in implementing individualized treatment plans and working with a diverse patient population.
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid are preferred, with additional training in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
