Traveling Heavy Equipment OperatorWe are seeking an experienced Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator to work on our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, skid steers, and telehandlers, on heavy civil construction sites. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to work efficiently in a team environment, and experience working in challenging field conditions. This project is out of state and will require travel for 12+ months.ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including excavators, dozers, skid steers, and telehandlersPerform excavation, grading, material handling, site preparation, and backfilling activities according to project specificationsRead and understand grade stakes, utility markings, and project plans as neededAssist with trenching, earthwork, utility installation support, and general construction operationsConduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needsEnsure all equipment is properly maintained and operated in accordance with company safety standardsWork closely with superintendents, foremen, and crew members to complete projects safely and efficientlyIdentify and resolve issues that arise during construction activitiesOther duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience in heavy civil constructionProven experience operating excavators, dozers, skid steers, and telehandlersExperience working around underground utilities, grading operations, earthwork, or site development projects preferredAbility to excavate, fine grade, load trucks, handle materials, and work safely around crews and existing infrastructureMust be willing to travel and work out of state for extended periodsMust be willing to work nights and weekends as neededStrong understanding of equipment safety, maintenance, and daily inspectionsAbility to read grade stakes, construction plans, and project layouts is preferredStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of audiencesStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing jobsite conditionsA commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplaceEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
